Wow what a month!

So the last few weeks have been absolutely crazy!! Throughout June and July my Grandma Hall was hospitalized several times and finally the last time she never made it home. She passed away on July 23, 2011 at the age of 80. Her funeral was held on July 29, 2011. It was so nice and I think it turned out exactly how she would have wanted it to be. There was 3 musical numbers including the song "Divine Redeemer" sung by my Aunt Kris, the song "I feel my Savior's love" sung by all of the grandchildren and their spouses, and an organ solo by my Uncle Glen. My Grandmother had a passion for music and had specifically requested these numbers at her funeral. The musical numbers were intermixed with 2 talks, one by my Aunt Janet about her life, and a second by my Dad about enduring to the end. After the funeral we all went to the cemetery, Wasatch Lawns in Salt Lake City where we had a short graveside service. After the graveside we went back to my Grandparents church where the ward provided a luncheon for the family. Even though it was a hard day it was very good.

Us with Grandpa Hall
The next week was very fun filled. Monday August 1st we celebrated my 30th birthday- Yikes I'm old! Jon and I went to lunch at Olive Garden then we went to Cherry Hill with Jon's sister Shelley, Sister-in-law Addie and of course Jackson and little Lily. We had so much fun and it was so nice to float around in the lazy river. It was the most comfortable my stomach has felt in a long time.

Then on Thursday August 4,2011 my brother Bryce returned home from his mission to Salvador, Brazil. Everyone met up at the airport and waited with much anticipation for him to come down the escalator. Finally after what seemed like an eternity, really only about 30min he finally arrived. To our surprise he looked so much like my brother Spencer we almost didn't recognize him. After the airport we all went to lunch and then spent time at my parents listening to all the mission stories. It has been so fun to have him home.

Since we hadn't had enough family time, Friday Aug. 5th we went swimming at my Great Aunt Bethine's pool and celebrated my birthday again with my family. Then this past Saturday we had a family baby shower held at my Grandma Jensen's. It was so fun to see everyone, and everyone was so generous to us. I think we will have more than enough clothes for this little guy when he finally arrives. While the girls were at the baby shower, the boys all went to the gun range with my Grandpa and got to show off their skills. Jon was very excited because he hit a playing card and split in in half. He'll have to share those details :)

Yesterday my sister Rachel blessed her baby Spencer Daniel Eskelson.  He is such a cute baby and is growing like a weed.

  1. I'm so sorry that your grandmother passed away. Sounds like it has been a very unusual time for your family with so much happening. I'm so excited for your baby and happy for you!

    Love,
